How it Works...
Working in conjunction with parents (and sometimes schools) my child counselling focuses on building and maintaining trust with the child.
We work in a safe, relaxed environment where the child has the opportunity to express themselves fully without judgment.
I focus on helping the child identify and explore their feelings and increasing their self awareness and resilience. This is in conjunction with understanding the needs and intentions of the people around us.
Between myself and the child, we develop strategies for supporting and expressing emotions in an effective manner. I use a combination of art, play and talking therapies with the inclusion of mindfulness, music, yoga and breathing techniques where appropriate!
