You don't have to work it out on your own
Parenting a child who lives with high anxiety can be exhausting. You might be on the receiving end of meltdowns, struggling with everyday tasks that other families take for granted, or feeling judged by people who don't see what happens behind closed doors.
Many of the families I work with have children who are neurodivergent, sometimes with a diagnosis and sometimes still waiting for answers.
Hello, I'm Kate
I’m a person-centred counsellor with nearly 20 years’ experience supporting individuals and families affected by high anxiety.
I’m also a mum to a child who has lived with anxiety, so I understand how much of yourself goes into soothing a child’s fears and helping them cope with the world around them. I also know how hard it can be to advocate for your child, and how often parents have to push for the right support from school and the local authority. That experience shapes everything I do.
My work is warm, confidential and free from judgement. I will help you to explore and navigate your world, and to make choices that benefit your child and your family as a whole.

Support for parents and children, in their own space
I see parents and children separately because my work with parents is different to the work I do with children. The experience for parents is different to that of the child and each individual needs the space to have their unique concerns expressed and acknowledged
Support for parents
Sessions give you space to talk about the day-to-day challenges of family life, along with the things that are harder to say out loud. That might be the loss of the parenthood you expected, fears for your child's future, or the pain of watching your child struggle with anxiety.
Counselling for children
I offer children a relaxed, trusting space to explore their feelings and express themselves without judgement. Alongside talking, I use art, play, mindfulness and breathing techniques to build self-awareness and resilience at a pace that feels right for them.
